novato where crews responding to a fire find a massive marijuana grow. firefighters are still mopping up but it is now mostly quiet. this is not extensive damage from the outside. this is what it looked like when novato firefighters arrived overnight with investigators saying someone called 9-1-1 around 1:30 to report a fire, with crews going inside and found an extensive marijuana growing operation. abc7 news reporter is on the scene with a live update coming up in the next half hour. >> developing news, police are launching a formal investigation after a former pre-school teacher revealed she tied up a two-year old girl. our news reporter is live at center point christian pre-school. >> the administration does not know what the teacher was thinking. they are upset as the parents. the teacher admitted she tied up a two-year old girl because the girl refused to take a nap. the teacher showed pictures of the girl, showed her taped at the wrists and the ankles, and the teacher showed this to colleagues and even the girl's mother at a social gathering. the school reacted strongly. >> the ch
are here but they are waiting for the relief shift. this happened at this home here in novato last night. crews were called to the home. what they found inside, it is what they found inside that is raising so many questions this morning. this happened at around 11:30 when a neighbor called to report smoke coming from the home. crews arrived and discovered an extensive marijuana growing operation inside. the home was abandon asked firefighters say they do know that the fire started in the basement but are not sure how much damage was caused to the home but they saw not a lot of dam, mostly smoke damage. at this point a lost questions remain about who may have been inside, who is connected to this marijuana-growing operation, and a lot of the neighbors say the homeowners have not lived here for years so the question, now, is, who has been inside? how did this fire start? all of it will be very much part of the much larger investigation that will begin right after daylight when the fire investigators arrive. live in novato for abc7 news. >> more developing news, a pleasanton pre-school is h

-- a house fire in novato led to the discovery of a marijuana grow operation. firefighters had to use a chainsaw to cut through the walls of the home to put the fire out. it started about 11:30 last night on marion avenue. no one was living in the house and firefighters say it was just being used to grow pot. the cause of the fire is still being investigated. >>> in vallejo, a 15-year-old boy was shot and injured trying to help his younger sister get away from gunfire. it happened about 8:00 last night on alabama street. police say a group of men started shooting at a person who was standing near the boy and his sister. a stray bullet hit the boy in the leg as he tried to rush his sister inside the apartment. the boy was taken to the hospital and is recovering. so far, no arrests have been made. >>> 7:05. a criminal investigation has now been launched into disturbing allegations made against a preschool teacher in pleasonton accused of tying up a 2-year-old girl. ktvu tea alex savidge has been on the story since -- ktvu's alex savidge has been on the story since 4:30. you are back to
